Cavendish Square is a shopping mall in Claremont that offers more than 200 mostly upmarket stores (with the notable exception of McDonalds). There is plenty of undercover parking available; the mall itself is trolley free.
There are plenty of restaurants (including Primi and Gourmet Burger) and coffee shops on offer with several fast food places centred around the food court. There is a Ster Kinekor cinema upstairs and a Ster Kinekor Cinema Nouveau (art and foreign movies) downstairs.

The adjacent link shopping centre has recently been revamped and is now well connected to Cavendish. This has increased the number of stores available dramatically and the new areas have been well finished.
- Don't forget about the Cinema Nouveau showing the more 'artsy' movies downstairs
- There is a dedicated parking area with direct access to the Woolworths - makes using trolleys easier
Cavendish is on Main Road in Claremont (on the right if you're going towards Wynberg) and is hard to miss.
Directions from the N2 towards the city:
- Keep left and take the M3 turn-off towards Muizenberg
- You will now pass the University of Cape Town (main campus on your right)
- Continue past the Newlands/ Rhodes Memorial off-ramp until you reach the 1st set of traffic lights (Kirstenbosch intersection)
- At this point keep along the left lane and take the slip road running past the Shell service station. (Do not continue with the M3)
- At the traffic circle turn left towards the Vineyard Hotel
- You are now in Protea Rd, continue as the road curves to the right (do not go straight)
- Turn right into Cavendish Str. at the traffic intersection of Protea and Cavendish
- Cavendish Center is on your left and you can enter the center car park further along Cavendish Str just past the mall entrance
- By Train: On the Fish Hoek / Simon's Town Line, get off at Claremont Station
