Arnolds is a buzzing little restaurant on Kloof Street which is famous for its excellent R16 breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, grilled tomato, ostrich wors and 2 slices of toast - seriously! This excellent deal ensures that Arnolds is packed on mornings, especially weekend mornings.
The menu is fairly extensive through breakfast lunch, and dinner (see the menu here). Arnolds seems to specialize in game with an excellent gemsbok burger, crocodile ribs, springbok shanks, and warthog ribs among other options. There are also pasta, seafood and salad options.
The restaurant is in two sections - inside is the non-smoking section, while there are table set up outside for the smokers. This section overlooks the busy Kloof Street and there are heaters on cooler evenings.
The staff at Arnolds is particularly friendly, and even when very busy they are generally able to get the food out promptly.

Arnolds is on Kloof Street in Gardens - on the right if you are heading up the hill, before you get to Saigon on the right
- Get onto Kloof Street from Buitengracht, Long, or Orange Streets
- Continue up past the Nandos (on the right) and the Engen (on the left)
- Arnolds is on your right - look out for the big sign
- If you get to the robots at Camp Street (Saigon on the right) then you have gone too far
Breakfasts are great
The R16 is breakfast is great - it's not too good to be true. Ours came quickly, was well prepared and was delicious. Give it a try
