Artjamming

'Artjamming', also known as 'paintertainment', is an experience store recently opened at Wembley Square that combines entertainment and art. The idea is that participants walk into the studio and are provided with a blank canvas, brushes, aprons and vibrant acrylic paints. In a funky and creative environment people then create paintings of anything and everything.

There are no lessons or constraints; the whole idea is to allow groups and individuals to have fun while creating paintings. They cater for kids, corporate groups, parties, individuals - everyone is encouraged to be creative and no previous painting or drawing experience is required.

There are a variety of canvas size options which vary dramatically in price. The cheapest option is the R95 flat canvas which is 25x25cm. Other cheap options are R120 (25x35cm) and R135 (30x40cm). You can also pay a little more for a 'boxed canvas' which is one of those thick boxed canvases that does not require framing. The 25x25cm boxed canvas is R135. The most expensive option is 89x122cm boxed canvas at R600

• Although aprons are provided it's recommended that you don't wear your best - it's easy to get carried away. Apparently shoes are easy targets for dripping paint so bear this in mind.
