Knead is a bakery in Wembley Square that has quickly become popular among locals. There is a bakery section selling a variety of high quality breads, pastries, pies and treats over the counter.
Knead is also a restaurant with tables sprawled around the courtyard within Wembley Square. There is a fairly extensive menu offering breakfast and lunch options. The food is tasty and the vibe is relaxed with many people enjoying the newspaper while having a meal.
The easiest way to get to Wembley Square is from Buitenkant Street. There is a little sign on the turn which is on the right if you are going down the hill. The turn is before the Shell garage if you are going down the hill

The management of Knead Bakery in Muizenberg seems neither to know nor care about the comfort of its customers. Somewhere in the Knead operating manual is a diktat that there must be muzak blaring from the cheap tinny speakers regardless of the time of day of the number of customers. The management cannot tell me how the noise of bad muzak through an inadequate amplifier via cheap speakers contributes to a dining experience. The fact that customers have to face this time and time again also means that the management doesn't give a damn either. The walls and floors of the restaurant are hard - marble and mirrors - so the place is an acoustic disaster. Add to that the babble of 100 human voices and the racket from the speakers and you have bedlam.
I know the management think they're being clever because if they play their k@k music full blast they will drive people out and get more tables to turn. That is simply tacky and I hope to hell they languish with no customers when the winter months are here.
Knead in Muizenberg does not rate a second visit - a first visit is stomach churning enough. What should happen to the completely inconsiderate owners and managers (and I don't give a damn how venerable they are nor how long they've been wowing the crowds with their cookery school) is to put steel buckets over their heads and to bang the buckets with steel hammers long enough and loud enough so that these people who are so careless of the comfort of their customers get an idea of what it is like to be in their vile restaurant for 10 minutes.
There are much nicer places in Muizenberg than this pretentious establishment, where the proprietors DO consider their customers. They need the support - not Knead.
My rating is zero out of ten - if it didn't defy mathematics I would give them a minus score.

I echo the previous review/comment on this venue "The management of Knead Bakery in Muizenberg seems neither to know nor care about its customers." ...pity we were not even seated to comment on the comfort.
My six year old daughter and I were put on a waiting list after people who had arrived after us, which I overlooked. The last straw came when people who were put on the list after us were seated BEFORE us. Don't know what the manager thought of us, but we were certainly not good enough to be seated like everyone else.
I will never return and would not recommend that anyone else tries this most inconsiderate customer UN-friendly place.

Knead Muizenberg - Fantastic
I would just like to say that I go to Knead Muizenberg every week and the service I receive and the food I eat are both fantastic.
The staff are very friendly and yes on the weekend it gets very busy, but things are professionally handled and I never have to wait long for a table. It does get loud but that is mostly form people enjoying themselves and makes for a wonderful atmosphere. The service is not always perfect but always handled with good humour and the staff care.
The tirade of the first complainer says more about themselves that it does about Knead
Do not listen to these sad people, go to Knead to experience it for yourself you wont be disappointed
P.S The following are my favourites, the Almond Croissants hot out of the oven, the Breakfast Pizza - bacon , egg , sausage, tomato, mushroom on a pizza, and the chicken bunny chow ....

Whoever the blithering idiot is that wrote about the so-called 'bedlam' at Knead should first learn how to write properly writing such pathetic BS. What a sad, ignorant and unintelligent little person he must be.
Not to mention the fact that all of the things said were utter nonsense and completely untrue.
Knead gets a 10 out of 10 from me and everyobody else I know that has been there! : )
