Vintage India

Vintage India is an authentic Indian restaurant in the Gardens Centre just off Orange Street. It seems that a lot of effort has been put into making the place seem Indian - the superb staff, the Hindi music, the decorations, and of course the food. This appears to have paid off because of the few patrons many are themselves Indian.

The staff is very friendly, attentive and generally efficient - claiming that they serve "heavenly food for heavenly people". If you have problems with hot food let your waiter know.

The food itself is very tasty and obviously good enough for the local Indians who frequent the place. Pricing is reasonable (although miles better than other similar Indian restaurants) for what you get. The menu is large and if uncertain it is recommended that you ask your waiter for assistance.

The restaurant appears to be very quiet most nights although this is probably due to a bad location and low visibility. This probably serves to further put people off, but the restaurant is actually excellent.

• Don't be put off if the restaurant is empty - it normally is
• Order some nan bread with your meal - delicious
