Miss K is a new and trendy breakfast and lunch café in Green Point. There is a long, narrow inside section with tables running alongside the open kitchen. There are also several tables set up on an outside deck area overlooking the road. The interior has been nicely finished with clean whites and stylish murals, crockery and decorations.
The food is of a high quality - fresh and tasty, but is consequently a little pricey. There is a help yourself and pay by weight muesli option for breakfast and a similar buffet setup for lunch - both good. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is served daily until 12:00 (13:00 on Sundays) after which there is a lunch buffet and several sandwiches on the menu. There are also tartlets, cupcakes, croissants and various other treats on offer.

- There is an excellent corn bread breakfast which can be improved by asking for added scrambled eggs
- Miss K is on your left as you head down Somerset Road (Main Road) in Green Point. It is located in the same block as the Kauai
- If you get to the robots alongside the traffic circle then you have just passed it
New Fav hangout!!
WOW!! I heard of Miss K from my boyfriend and took a friend there for her birthday - what an experience!! I've been there a few times now, and have recommended it to all my other friends and work colleagues, as the service and food are out of this world!! I absolutely adore Miss K!! (especially the eggs benedict and little baked goodies...)
Hot chocolates are cool
Give the hot chocolates a try. They come as a layer of thick chocolaty syrup, a layer of hot milk, and a thin layer of froth. Makes it visually appealing, fun to stir up, and delicious. At R19 a little steep, but pretty good.

Went there for lunch once, and I've been trying to find the time and opportunity to go again. Really nice place, awesome lunches (get there before it's finished!) and great interior.
Glove in my sandwich!!
One of the most disgusting experiences I have had...My Mom paid R90 for her buffet lunch, while my sister got the end of a latex glove in her beef sandwich, the waiters handled themselves well, But the co-owners behaviuor was DISGUSTING .. and the reason I will never return...The place is descirbed as trendy..I say PRETENTIOUS.. Both owners were present and could not even come and apologise for a condom-looking item in our sandwich, this is UNACCEPTABLE.. Hey at least they did not charge us extra...SO people in Cape Town, save your hard earned cash and go somewhere else!!
Great experience
Took my mom for lunch a few weeks back, and had a fantastic experience. The chicken Mayo sandwich was the best I've had at any restaurant! The staff are friendly and efficint, and Miss K came to greet us at the table. Will definitly go there again!
My husband and I used to go
My husband and I used to go to Miss K every single day. After our experience today, not any more!!! We went for lunch and there were flies sitting all over the food. When I asked the waiter why the food wasn't covered he said the manager refused to do so. I asked to speak to the manager who, in a very rude tone, said, and I quote, "I absolutley refuse to compromise on the visual layout of the food". And then she walked away. I was speechless. Does she not undestand basic hygiene? I also couldn't believe how rude she was, especially to a regular patron.
Best food in Cape Town!
I go to Miss K regularly and am always pleasantly surprised with the lunch time offerings. Each day has something new. Her fish cakes are the best I have ever had, and as for the beautiful cake display as you enter the shop,who can resist? My boyfriend never leaves without having one of the meringues... And the rare roast beef sandwich is my fave. (oh, and the corn bread for breakfast)
A sweet treat
I had my first experience at Miss K today and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the famous cornbread and tomatoes for breakfast and it was truly delicious!!! I took home a meringue and a rose cupcake for my children and will post about my experience on my website soon.
Ps. I have to say that the visual display of the food is definitely a selling point for me, but I was also wondering about flies and dust especially while they are building so extensively in the area.
We had good service, but if I read the above comments, it makes me sad, because it unfortunately takes only one bad comment to undo a lot of good marketing and money spent. One must remember that the customer is always right even if he is wrong!

Miss K just GORGEOUS!
...Miss K is one of my locals, and thank goodness for that - as it's just such a treat, and totally unlike anything else on the Green Point strip... the staff are just so wonderful and have been there for ages - very low turn-around in staff always indicates they are treated well and are happy - and it shows! The food is just my BEST and Kirsten (Miss K) is such a pleasure and although usually rushed off her feet, always makes time to say Hello! Miss K ROCKS!
