Signal Hill is the 'rump' of Lions Head and is a very popular sundowners spot. Its location and elevation offer great views over the city, Table Mountain, and Table Bay. This spot is also popular because there is road access and a large parking lot so you can easily head out there at night to view the night lights.
There are also some paths from the view points which give access to some short walks along the hillside
Tips
- The city is beautiful from this spot at night, with wonderful views of the harbour and city lights
- If you are around at 12:00 you will hear the famous Noon Gun pretty clearly!
Getting There
- Drive up Kloofnek (sign posts for the Cableway lead you there)
- At the top of Kloofnek instead of turning towards Table Mountain head towards Lions Head (right if you are coming from the city)
- You will soon see the parking area for Lions Head - continue up along this road to the end
