Milnerton Flea Market
07:00 to 16:00 Saturdays and Sundays
Address: Otto Du Plessis Drive, Paarden Eiland
In a windswept and dusty lot with stunning views of Table Mountain the Milnerton Flea Market isn't like the touristy or romantic markets of Greenmarket, Rondebosch, or Green Point. This is a market for those who aren't afraid of dragging through a lot of second hand junk in order to find some of the real bargains to be had.
The flea market can get quite large and there are normally plenty of shoppers perusing the goods on sale. You are guaranteed to findĀ stacks of ancient cutlery, crockery, tools, antiques, books, tapes - most of which seems to come from the 1960s and 1970s. Almost everything is very cheap, but even so almost nothing is worth the price.
There are a few snack and drinks stalls to keep you gong, but in general this should be a quick visit and can easily be combined with some other trip out towards Milnerton
- Get onto the N1 heading out of town towards Paarl
- One of the first off ramps is the R27 and heads out North along the coast past Paarden Eiland
- After going through a couple of sets of traffic lights you will see the flea market on your left
- There is parking on the road and in the open areas alongside the flea market

Milnerton Market
The Milnerton Market is basically a lot of junk in one small area but I have also found it to be (on occasion) a good place to find that proverbial 'diamond in the rough'. It's also a good place to look for props for shoots, films and projects and there is a pretty good magazine stand which sells Vogues for next to nothing.
Wanting a stand at the Milnerton Flea Market
My boss has a lot of stuff he wants to get rid of and Milnerton Flea Market seems to be the place for his goods. Who can I contact in order to find out the criteria in getting a stand here (I am not sure if it will be a once off or a regular thing). Thanks Jenny (contact no 021-9338003 or can just email)
