Montrail CapeStorm Trail Series
R60 to R90 per race
Montrail and CapeStorm collaborate to organize 'Trail Series' competitions each of which are made up of several trail running races. Competitors accumulate points according to their performance in each of the runs in the series and at the end of the series winners are decided based on points.
The races are short to medium distance (8 to 12km) trail runs on well marked off-road routes. The runs generally include steep climbs and a mixture of terrains from jeep tracks to single tracks. Each race is generally limited to around 300 runners.
During each series there are a number of races (generally between 4 and 8) on consecutive weekends. Racers compete in as many races as possible and their best results are used to tally a points total at the end of the series.
Although most runners compete is several of the events there is no restriction and it is possible to compete in any number of the events (event just one!)

I recently ran the last race of the 2008 Winter Series and I was very impressed. The event was very well organised and seemed to be very professionally managed. There was a large tent, commentary and a dedicated parking area.
The race itself was fun with a well marked route and a wide variety of competitors. Looking forward to the Summer Series!
