The Carvery is a small and relaxed restaurant where for a set fee (currently R89) diners get a 3 course meal with a buffet carvery as the main course. Patrons choose a starter (soup, pate, salad, etc), then help themselves to the carvery (roast beef, roasted Karoo lamb, chicken, roast potatoes, etc), and finish up with a choice from the dessert menu (Crème brulee, chocolate mousse, malva pudding, ice cream, etc).
The carvery is served buffet style with the unusual stipulation that you can only have more if you have cleared what is on your plate!
The venue is quaint and includes and outside section and a kiddies play area.
- Because you can only get more food once you have cleared your plate it is advisable to serve small helpings.
- The Carvery is on Regent Road in Sea Point
- Get onto Sea Point Main Road from High Level Road, or Somerset Road
- When the road forks at St Johns Road (Ocean Basket on your left) keep right into Regent Road
- The Carvery is on the right just before the Spar
- If you reach the T-junction you have gone too far
