Zorgvliet is a wine estate in the beautiful Banhoek Valley near Stellenbosch. The estate overlooks the majestic Simonsberg mountains and rolling vineyards. Zorgvliet features a lodge, two restaurants, picnic restaurant, spa, and cellar tours.
The Hernhuis restaurant (Tel: 021 885 2580) is a historic Cape Dutch building dated from 1692 and meticulously restored recently. The picnic restaurant is currently being restored but is normally a good option for a relaxed lunch.
Cellar tours are conducted Monday to Saturday but do require booking in advance. At R95 per head this is one of the more expensive cellar tours around. A better option is to take advantage of the wine tasting which is open daily (including Sundays)
