Carlyles is a busy Italian restaurant in Vredehoek. It has a large smoking section and a bar area which gets quite rowdy at times - it has a bit of a party atmosphere. There are quieter tables in the lower section of the restaurant for the more relaxed, but it seems that this party atmosphere is what draws many people.
This bar-like atmosphere can lead to some sloppy service, but in general the food and the service is good with reasonable prices and lots of fun.
Tips
- Parking is MADNESS around Carlyles so you may need to walk a little
Getting There
Carlyles is near the top of Derry St in Vredehoek (if you get to the Spar you went a little too far)
Bad service
I recently ordered a take-away pizza from Carlyles which took 40 minutes to make and had 2 out of 3 toppings wrong! And this was on a quiet Sunday evening! It was pretty tasty though...
Good waiters
i was at Carlyels last night (11/11/09) only 2 waiters were rocking and rolling Winston and Hillary 2 bloody good waiters...........
