Activities in Green Point

Il Leone is a stylish Italian restaurant in Green Point with a large menu and good food. Both the food and the staff are good, and prices are pretty reasonable for the value delivered. Wine is fairly expensive however (corkage is R30).

Andiamo is an Italian restaurant and deli in the Cape Quarter (Green Point) which has a bustling ambiance and setting. The tables are set up in the sheltered courtyard along with those of several other restaurants and shops.

Buena Vista is a Cuban restaurant, bar and cigar lounge in Green Point. Wooden floors, old wooden tables and chairs, Cuban decorations, red brick walls, blaring Latino music, mojitos and cigars give the place a real fun and Cuban feel. There is also a balcony available for hot summer evenings and a view of the busy Green Point Main Road below.

Atlantic Athletics Club has a weekly time trial around the Green Point common on Wednesday evenings at 18h00. It is a small and relaxed running club so the time trials are normally quite small (10-30 people) and there is a jovial atmosphere.

Miss K is a new and trendy breakfast and lunch café in Green Point. There is a long, narrow inside section with tables running alongside the open kitchen. There are also several tables set up on an outside deck area overlooking the road. The interior has been nicely finished with clean whites and stylish murals, crockery and decorations.

Fiesta is a restaurant and bar in the Cape Quarter that specializes in tapas. There is a fairly large tapas menu as well as several main course options including fish, burgers, and sandwiches. Fiesta has a bar area and an extensive cocktail menu.

The annual Gun Run is perhaps Cape Town's best known half-marathon (competing with the Two Oceans Half). The route starts and ends at Hamiltons Rugby Club in Moullie Point. Runners pass through the V&A Waterfront, the CBD, past parliament, Green Point and along the promenade.

The Showroom is a chic and fairly expensive restaurant in Green Point. The open plan and white interior restaurant adjoining the well known Bloomsbury motors showroom is very popular due to the high quality food and server. However, expect to pay a fairly high price this good meal out.

Every Sunday hundreds (over 400) of vendors descend on the parking area of Green Point Stadium for the Sunday flea market. Here you will find a large variety of products on offer in a bustling atmosphere beloved of many a tourist.
